🪺5.24 CBBS: Meeting on a Saturday? Prepping for China’s 2025 Breeding Bird Survey
On the night of May 24, a week before China’s 2025 breeding bird survey kicked off, the project lead team—yep, the Wildlife Tech Lab I’m part of—held an urgent pre-survey meeting. Since we’re all super busy this month, it was probably our only chance to sit down and focus on dividing up the detailed tasks for each member before the survey began. (We did have BBS planning meetings online in the previous months, but those were more about overall structure rather than the practical logistics each person had to handle.) We reviewed past surveys, checked results and plans for anything that needed tweaking, and agreed on ways to promote the survey and bring in more volunteers. (A lot of work is coming my way—I’ll share the details of what I’m working on in the next blog.) Honestly, Saturday meetings are tough, but the pizza made it worth it. I’m calling it a pizza night, not a meeting lol.
