🐦8.4 (family vacay ver) Birdwatching at Taman Tasik Permaisuri
On family trips it is always hard to sneak away for birding at hotspots. My family does not love hiking or long walks(especially my mom😭, my dad’s fine since he’s used to nature as someone from the tibetan grasslands). This time in Kuala Lumpur I got lucky. Taman Tasik Permaisuri is right near the city center. You can even see the Petronas Twin Towers from the park.
I spotted Red Junglefowl, Painted Stork and Pond Heron. I used to think storks looked bald and awkward. Now they feel elegant. They really hit me visually this year and became a favorite. I also saw Common Mynas everywhere and even a lizard.
I was in a rush to catch a flight so I did not have patience for long birding. My main target was the Buffy Fish Owl. But a jogger told me the owls had moved out two days ago. Their chick fell into the water and the parents decided it was not safe. Bad timing for me. Missed them again. (i do hv birdwatching bad luck or sth feels like 😭)
