đŚââŹ9.21 Luhu: Pop-up Store at Chengduâs Largest Public Market
I opened a small pop-up store at Chengduâs biggest public market to raise my own project funds. Next yearâs grant application requires self-funding capacity, so this is the first step. We launched several new designs with a kingfisher logo. The first piece is the White Wagtail dish sponge (15 RMB).
We also introduced the Red-flanked Bluetail keychain (20 RMB). Last winter in Hongshi Park I saw a tiny bird that nobody recognized. It flew off quickly. Only later at home with the field guide did I confirm it was a female Red-flanked Bluetail. That was my first âliferâ in Luxelakes and it made me eager to see winter migrants again this year.
Next is the Kingfisher logo baseball cap in green, gray, and black (25 RMB). With the Fish Harvest Festival coming, we wanted a group logo on our market stand. Luxelakes is known for its lake and wetlands. Among waterbirds none stood out as iconic, so we chose the common kingfisher that often appears at our events. It loves catching fish and symbolizes abundance and harvest.
Finally we released the Kingfisher logo T-shirt in gray, black, white, and navy (30 RMB). On the back are graphics of our favorite community birding spots from the past year: Luyewild, Hongshi, Tianfu Forest, and our community meeting room. The ellipsis means we will keep exploring new sites. âStaycayin = local vacation.â We hope birdwatching here gives people healing and relaxation, and that in Luxelakes every season can feel calm and free.
